The Presentation Sisters’ presence in Latin America crosses three countries, Chile, Ecuador and Peru.  Sisters arrived in Chile from New Zealand in 1982 to begin the first mission in a rural region called Lo Valdivia. A year later, Sisters from the South West Province in Ireland arrived in Ecuador and in 1993 Sisters living in Latin America established a mission in Lima, Peru.  The Latin American Spiral was officially formed in 1996.

Today we are  10 sisters living and ministering in:

Chile -  Lo Valdivia, Iquique
Ecuador – Chone, Quito
Peru – Lima

Celebrating the Inauguration of Casa Nana Nagle in Chile

Called to live the Gospel with the most marginalised and oppressed, we choose to live among the poor, sharing life, culture, customs and language in a spirit of friendship and trust. We are engaged in a number of ministries and projects including:

  • catechetical and faith development,
  • pastoral ministry,
  • healing ministries,
  • community education and development.

APLA Gathering 2014

Together with Sisters from other Presentation Congregations working in South America we form an Association of Presentation in Latin America known as APLA as a way of strengthening our friendship, support and unity for mission.
