Shine On!

‘Shine On’ is a new short documentary film celebrating the work of The Lantern Community Project in Cork city.

l-r: David Rose, Norma Roche, Noreen Leahy, Cllr Mick Nugent, Karina Healy and Jim Sheehan at the launch of Shine On

Participants from the various groups in the Lantern share what the project means to them.  In a series of moving and courageous stories, the film captures the essence of the Lantern as a place of welcome, inclusion and learning.

The film was launched by the deputy Lord Mayor of Cork, Councillor Mick Nugent in the Firkin Crane Theatre.

Directed by Maria Young and Tina Horan, the film features original music by Ross O'Regan, Hannah and Pat Healy, and PJ Manning.

The Lantern is a project of Presentation Ireland.  It is situated on George’s Quay, where Nano Nagle herself would have ministered.
