Leave No One Behind: End Violence Against Women and Girls

The UNiTE Campaign this year will be taking place from 25 November to 10 December, where there will be 16 days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. This Campaign reflects some of the core principles of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular Goal number 5 – Gender Equality. As Presentation Sisters, our Congregation is shaped by the fidelity to the Gospel as expressed in the spirituality and charism of Nano Nagle. We embody her commitment to the education and care of the vulnerable and powerless. (Our Way of Life, C2). We support this Campaign as there is a real need to work together to end violence against women and girls around the world.

As in previous years, the colour orange will be the key theme to unify all activities and buildings and landmarks will be lit up and decorated in orange to bring global attention to these issues.

Each day of the Campaign will high-light a different issue. Below you will see links to some leaflets that give more information on each of the issues that need to be addressed. There are seven leaflets – one for each day of the first seven days of the Campaign, with more becoming available on 29 November and 6 December. You can read these online or you can download and print them – please note if you are printing them they will fold lengthwise. These were prepared by “Future We Need” (FWN) a faith based group with members from Presentation Sisters, Mercy Sisters, Columbans, Franciscans and Salesians. We ask you to read them, understand the need for change and pray that we can all work together to end violence against women and girls.
